If your website requires frequent updates, has rotating products, or regular news articles it can get expensive to have a web designer change your content every time. The solution is a content management system. A password protected admin page is created. Once logged in and administrator can browse the site and edit each section of content at will.
The interface for editing the site looks very similar to a word processor and as such requires no knowledge of html or any programming experience. With little to no training a person familiar with a word processor will be able to add/edit/delete entire blocks of text, format paragraphs, insert tables, upload and insert images and other files.
